en route

I arrived in Paris this morning and I'm currently on a train that reaks of B.O. Gotta love mass transit! It certainly beats me trying to navigate the streets on my own. I have approximately a 3.5 hour train ride to Grenoble, which is where I meet my tour crew tomorrow morning. There's no rest for the weary. We'll climb Alp d'Huez tomorrow. I'm pretty pooped at the moment, but I'm trying to stay awake for my train transfer at Lyon.

The weather here is quite pleasant at the moment. Very San Francisco-like. It's very green here. I'm watching all the trees whiz by outside my window. What I can't get over are the clouds! They seem to hover very low above the ground and are splattered throughout the sky.

I'll check back in later. I can't wait to watch the events of today's stage unfold. These next few days in the tour should prove exciting.

One of these days we will get to the Alpe d'Huez. It will be interesting to compare it do some of the other passes in the Alps, see how much of the draw is the fact it is on the tour frequently vs. the real difficulty.

Have fun!!
